In Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, players are often keen to tackle objectives head-on in a fury of lead-slinging and blood-spilling. After all, all three remastered titles come bundled with a vast armory of rocket launchers, plus explosives. That said, unlike the other games in the collection, some situations in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas call for a stealthier approach, such as the mission "Madd Dogg's Rhymes."

For the uninitiated, the narrative of San Andreas is loaded with many iconic missions. From gut-wrenching betrayals to gut-busting subplots, the last title in the trilogy follows former gangster Carl "CJ" Johnson, who is drawn back into a life of crime after the death of his mother. Along the way back to the top, he dips his toes in a whole manner of criminal activities. However, the stealth mission that sees CJ breaking into a famous rapper's home is arguably one of the more memorable moments of the entire game.

How to Start "Madd Dogg's Rhymes" in GTA: San Andreas

To catch players up to speed, "Madd Dogg's Rhymes" is a tutorial mission in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. The conception of the opportunity arises after CJ steals a load of music equipment for his friend's album release party in the mission "Life's a Beach."

This friend is OG Loc, a rapper from Grove Street and one of the worst characters in the GTA franchise. Although, the release goes sour as it seems Loc cannot rhyme unless he has pre-written lyrics to read off. Therefore, Loc asks CJ to assist him in "borrowing" rhymes from famous rapper Madd Dogg.

To start "Madd Dogg's Rhymes," Carl Johnson must pay a visit to aspiring rapper OG Loc at the Burger Shot he works at in the southeast corner of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’s map. More specifically, the Marina area of Los Santos, San Andreas.

How to Complete "Madd Dogg's Rhymes" in GTA: San Andreas

To summarize the mission, Carl Johnson heads for Madd Dogg's Crib in Mulholland. After breaking in, he discovers that Madd Dogg's security has heavily guarded the home. Nonetheless, Carl continues the infiltration and uses his stealth skills to make his way to the studio room. Once inside the studio, he steals the rhyme book and heads back to Burger Shot to give OG Loc the item.

How to Stealth Kill Enemies in GTA: San Andreas

As touched upon, "Madd Dogg's Rhymes" introduces the player to the ability of stealth kills. In these tip-toe times, using the game's takedown mechanic can make things simultaneously easier while also acting as a delightful turn of pace from the typical, high-octane gunplay. Despite being a useful method, some players don't know how to perform this maneuver, opting instead for gun-blazing weapons when stuff hits the fan.

To stealth kill a guard in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, crouch walk up to a guard, and press the melee button to execute them. For those who need to hide from any patrolling thugs, keep to the shadows. To know if CJ is fully hidden, the white blip on your radar will turn blue. For those who want to get their hands on the stealth weapons prior to starting the mission, the Silenced 9mm can be spawned using cheat codes in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, although doing so will lock trophies and achievements.

Unfortunately for CJ, several bodyguards are roaming the home. The first bodyguard CJ sees has his back turned to him and is just in the right position for a stealth kill. Once he is taken care of, CJ must advance further towards the studio. The next guards are in the following sections of the home:

  • Guard 2 - Patrolling the swimming pool in the next room.
  • Guard 3 - Roaming the mansion near the small room by the pool area.
  • Guard 4 - Cleaning the bar in the leisure area.
  • Guard 5 - Playing video games near the exit of the leisure area.
  • Guard 6 - Guarding the entrance of the studio, he is the last enemy.

The reward for completing this mission is an increase in respect, and the mission "Management Issues" is now available. On top of this, CJ is also allowed to keep the knife, plus the remaining ammo for the Silenced 9mm, with the pistol being one of the best unlocks in GTA San Andreas.
